Five must do’s at NOLA – New Orleans Diaries!

I took a trip with my sister and friends to New Orleans and Mackinaw Island! I visited New Orleans second time last year and I must say it was an absolute blast. I’m listing fun things to do in New Orleans in this post:

1. Friday night out at Bourbon Street – Take a walk on this fun street and enter every bar on this street! The street is bustling with people having fun and throwing away colorful neck pieces, and you will hear music at every corner. Dance your night away in the iconic Bachlerotte bar or find live traditional jazz music at Fritzel’s European Jazz Pub. Fore more information visit New Orleans Official Guide.
2. Eat at fancy restaurants in the business district. My recommendation would be Domenica at The Roosevelt. Must try: Roasted Cauliflower with Whipped Feta (I’m vegetarian and I thought I wouldn’t find good vegetarian restaurants in a place that’s popular for it’s seafood, but I was pleasantly surprised to find delicious vegetarian/ vegan food). Another recommendation for those of you who are vegan: Seed. Must try: Artichoke Cakes!
3. Take the streetcars and visit French Quarters! Cycle along the streets and look at all the cute houses, and visit art and clothing boutiques on your way. You could even take the City Segway Tour, guided tours, or walk along the river front. Don’t forget to try the famous Beignets at Cafe Du Monde! Haunted tour of the city is a good way to spend your day knowing the history of the city. You could take a horse carriage tour to explore french quarters.
4. Nothing better than if you can make it during Mardi Gras!
5. If you love Jazz, visit Frenchmen Street. You won’t be disappointed!

Tip if you are visiting NOLA – Hotel Parking in downtown is crazy expensive ($40/ night). Instead, I would suggest taking an Uber or a shared taxi! You’ll thank me later for this 😉
